Golden Retriever/Rottweiler/Shepherd mix- Blossom- Adopted

Blossom

blossom011708.jpg
Blossom is a female golden retriever/rottweiler/shepherd mix who is now 3 months old. She is part of a litter of 14 pups that a golden retriever I rescued gave birth to in my laundry room last October.  She is a very sweet and gentle dog, great with children, and is cat-friendly. She has been dewormed and has had her first DHLPP vaccination.

Blossom will be a medium to large dog (50 lbs. or more) so I would like to place her in a home that has a good-sized yard. I am looking for a home for Blossom within 25 miles of West Los Angeles.

SPIRIT

SPIRT

spirit-sweet-prince-008.jpg   spirit-sweet-prince-012.jpg

It is with a heavy heart that I send the last photos of Spirit, one of my dogs that I rescued to adopt out but he ending up staying with me due to his ongoing kidney problems. He was rescued by me from the South Los Angeles Shelter in October, 2005 and shortly thereafter began having symptoms of renal problems, which after a blood panel was ordered proved to be correct.

Just recently his kidneys became more problematic and they no longer were able to hold his urine. These photos were taken today as we took our last walk together and then the ride to the vets office where while I held him in my arms and kissed him and told him how much I loved him and what a good boy he had been to me, he was put to sleep with a smile on his face and the gleam of the sun in his amber eyes.

This is my second dog in just a week of crossing over the rainbow bridge. As you all know, my little white Poodle, Champagne died on Saturday in his sleep. It is never easy to say good bye, but it comforts me to know that they had the best years of their lives her with me.

Keep me in your prayers as I have a heavy heart during this time of loss.

Blessings,

Mary

Opening Your Judy Blue Eyes

Opening Your Judy Blue Eyes

There are many enlightening lessons that I have learned in communicating with animals. One early on in the journey, I had the amazing experience of working with a little Siamese mix named, Judy Blue Eyes. Judy’s human friend, Jean had contacted me because Judy had been diagnosed to be in the final stages of a terminal skin cancer and was now hiding in the closet. Jean could not bear to see Judy suffer and asked me to find out if Judy wanted to be euthenized.

Judy was quiet a long moment, and then said very firmly, “ No way! I plan on healing.” It was clear as a bell. Judy’s innate intelligence knew exactly what she intended to do. After a diplomatic talk with Jean, I referred her to my Integrative veterinarian, Dr. Palmquist. Integrative medicine draws on both traditional and holistic healing.

Dr. Palmquist had an entirely different spin on Judy’s illness. He explained that the skin was a big eliminatory organ and the Judy was detoxing herself from some poisons that she had been exposed to before she had been so graciously rescued by Jean at an industrial site. After treating her with an injection of homeopathic remedies to stimulate her skin to heal, Dr. Palmquist also recommended that Jean use a Chi Light on Judy. A Chi Light is a small flashlight looking tool that emits a healing frequency of light. Judy’s healing journey had begun.

These treatments stimulated and supported Judy’s immune system to heal itself. However, her recovery process was complex. There were nights when Judy would run through the house howling. Understandably, Jean was distraught and contacted me. She was concerned that these treatments were not working and wanted to again know if Judy would like assistance in leaving her body,

Another chat with Judy revealed that she was again quite alarmed by Jean’s question. “Absolutely not!” She emphatically replied, “Just because I’m having a bad night? It doesn’t last forever and I still plan on healing.” I reported this to Jean along with Judy’s request to her, “Can you please calm down?” Jean was challenged with trusting the healing process.

It is important to understand that in the healing process there is sometimes a “healing crisis.” In other words, the symptoms may look worse as the healing takes place. Judy is now fully recovered. Where there was once a huge sore covering most of her face, head and neck, she now enjoys healthy skin and hair. Judy now happily spends her days playing with her best kitty friend, Emily. Her quality of life is fully restored to her through Jean’s willingness to listen to her and try alternative medicine and a “healing point of view”.
